Getting Started with Dentures
For first time denture patients (and long-time denture wears alike), our experienced dental prosthetists can help make the process as easy and straightforward as possible – providing years of experience and expert advice to make life with your dentures happier and easier.
For many patients new to wearing dentures, it can be a big adjustment. Our prosthetists will help assess your needs and give you advice on the best denture treatment options and help you through the process from start to finish.
For instance, many first-time partial denture wearers find it easier to adjust to an acrylic denture rather than chrome, as some may find a chrome denture to be too rigid and inflexible as a first denture. Others however prefer the chrome option as it can often be less bulky than an acrylic, and easier to get used to when talking/eating.
Other options to consider are things like the long-term viability of your remaining teeth, and whether or not you are likely to need additional teeth added to the denture in the future. For many patients’, aesthetic concerns may also be a factor when considering which type of denture to go for.
Deciding which denture is right for you can be a confusing and overwhelming decision to make, especially for first time denture wearers, but our friendly prosthetists are here to help.
If you aren’t sure where to start, get in touch with us today to book a consult with one of our experienced prosthetists. During your first consult appointment, your prosthetist will start with a thorough examination of your mouth and existing dentition and walk you through your options and the various treatment processes and prices. For patients still not sure of which direction to go in, we can offer our recommendation based on which denture options would suit you best.
For patients wanting to do their own research, our website also offers plenty of information on the various type of denture options available, as well as answering many of the questions frequently asked by patients regarding all things denture-related.
